Reggio Emilia inspired
The child leads. Educators listen, question and co-create — treating each child as competent, curious and full of ideas.
Nature & play-based early years
A Reggio- and Waldorf-inspired space where little hands explore, imagine and grow at their own beautiful pace. Mud, music, stories and sunshine — every single day.
Tiny batches · big hearts — ages 1.5 to 6 years
Gardens, mud kitchens & open skies as our classroom.
The child as a capable, curious protagonist of learning.
Gentle daily rhythms, story, art & imaginative play.
Low ratios so every child is truly seen and heard.
“Kefi” means the spark of joy and passion — and that's exactly what we protect in childhood. We blend the Reggio Emilia belief in the child as a capable explorer with the Waldorf love of rhythm, nature and imagination.
There are no rushed worksheets here. Instead there is mud between toes, paint on fingers, songs in the morning and stories at dusk — learning that follows a child's natural sense of wonder.
Inspired by the world's most loved early-childhood philosophies, grounded in nature and play.
The child leads. Educators listen, question and co-create — treating each child as competent, curious and full of ideas.
Predictable, unhurried days — circle, work, play, rest — give young children a deep sense of safety and belonging.
Daily outdoor time, gardening and loose parts. The seasons, soil and sky are our richest, ever-changing classroom.
Blocks, role-play, sand and water aren't breaks from learning — they are the learning. Deep play builds deep thinkers.
Children express themselves through art, clay, movement, music and story — not words alone. We make room for them all.
Families, educators and children grow together. Mixed-age groups nurture empathy, leadership and gentle friendships.
Three nurturing stages — Playgroup & Nursery, Lower & Upper Kindergarten — plus warm full-day care, for ages 1.5 to 8.
Soft beginnings — settling-in puzzles, yoga, circle time, sensory science and sand-pit play, ending with a story. Gentle mornings that make “school” a joyful word.
Our kindergarten years — Jolly Phonics, early literacy & numeracy, project work and science, with block time, lunch, outdoor play and storytelling.
A safe, homely extended day with nourishing meals, nap time, free play and lots of cuddles for working families.
Timings & fees vary by stage and plan — enquire for a detailed prospectus. See our daily rhythm below.
Predictable yet never rigid — like the comforting rhythm of a favourite song.
Soft landings, hugs and quiet puzzles or blocks as friends arrive.
Stretching, songs, stories, weather and a peek at the day ahead.
STEAM-led provocations and child-led investigations to explore.
Nourishing food shared together, then a gentle pause.
Jolly Phonics, stories, numbers and mark-making — never worksheets.
Garden, mud, climbing and the seasons as our classroom.
A beloved read-aloud, then we tidy, sing and share the day.
Less worksheet, more wonder. Here's how our days actually come alive — straight from our classrooms.
Each month has a STEAM theme — science, technology, engineering, arts & math — and activities are built from materials around us. For a transport & road-safety theme we curated a curvy block road — zebra crossings from dominoes, trees from puzzle boards, magnetic vehicles — then let the children explore and ask their own questions.
Open-ended bits with no fixed purpose — things children can move, combine and transform without limits. Everything natural, from leftovers and scraps; nothing fancy.
Literacy through Jolly Phonics — letter sounds via stories, songs and actions, and invented spelling we celebrate rather than correct. Numeracy through play — number sense built with hands-on, real-world activities.
Art is free expression — messy, beautiful and entirely the child's own. Wet-on-wet painting, form drawing, chalk and joyful scribbling, never colouring inside the lines.
At the heart of everything: naming feelings, building friendships, self-regulation and resilience — guided gently, not corrected. More for parents in our journal →
Children prepare their own snacks — plucking and sorting greens, slicing fruit, grating carrots, peeling corn, even churning butter — then sharing it together. Real food and real tools build fine-motor skill, focus and proud independence.
Mirthula · Founder & Lead Educator
Most of my little ones and their parents know me simply as Mirthu. The word “Kefi” means joy and passion, and I started this space with one simple intention: to give children a childhood that feels real, slow and close to nature. No rush, no pressure — just a happy childhood, the way it's meant to be.
Kefi was a long-held seed in my heart, and today it has grown into a beautiful little community of families who believe that children don't need to be rushed — they just need to be understood. Here, we spend our days playing, getting messy, going outdoors, listening to stories and learning through life rather than books.
“Children don't need to be rushed — they just need to be understood.”
I truly believe the early years aren't about preparing children for school, but for life itself. More than anything, I wanted Kefi to feel like a second home — not just for the children, but for their parents too — a place where everyone feels seen, heard and deeply loved.

I'm glad that I found Kefi Early Years, and I'm peaceful with my decision of having my son spend time here after his school hours! The ambiance is very child-friendly and welcoming. My son looks forward to going here every single day.
What struck me right away was how open and spacious the place is. I also love that the kinder has a calm and not-too-busy environment — it doesn't feel overwhelming at all, and that really helps.
A safe, comfortable and happy place for kids — the environment is just amazing, a spacious place for the kids to enjoy and learn. My kid is really happy there; even on holidays she asks me to take her to the school.
Kefi has been a wonderful learning environment for my niece. She proactively gets ready for school every day and loves the place and her ma'am so much. It's been a mix of fun and learning, and she doesn't want to take even a single day off — which proves how well Mirthula ma'am keeps the kids engaged.
Amazing play school with a warm and nurturing environment! The play-based learning approach keeps kids engaged while helping them develop essential skills. The space is clean, safe, and filled with fun activities. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a happy place for their little one!
A safe and happy place for the kids — definitely one of the good decisions I took for my daughter last year. She really enjoys going to school every day, and we have seen great changes in her behaviour and communication.
